Stop motion video of the stages of the painting Complex Systems by visual artist Helena Kauppila. The video was an experiment to create a different type of material (video) out of the painting process. It turned out to reveal and exemplify a major characteristic of Kauppila's work: the wild gestures, and how they eventually, through several ups and downs, come together.
